Local solicitors Thatcher + Hallam has announced that it will be supporting We Hear You over the next 12 months, as it's Charity of the Year.

We Hear You works across Bath and North East Somerset, Somerset and Wiltshire providing free emotional support to patients, family, friends and carers who've been affected by life threatening conditions, including cancer.

Laura Ablett, Partner at Thatcher + Hallam, said, "We are delighted to be supporting We Hear You for the next 12 months. The service they provide is something that any of us could need at any time– whether we are facing the diagnosis of a life threatening illness ourselves, we are supporting a loved one or we've experienced a bereavement. As a charity they work right in the heart of the community we serve and so we really hope we can be successful in our fundraising for them, but that we can also help raise awareness of the services they offer to local people."

Gemma Wilkes, Fundraising and Communications Manager at We Hear You, said, "We are delighted that Thatcher & Hallam have chosen We Hear You as their charity partner. Working with local businesses is incredibly important for us as it enables us to work together to promote each other's services as well as take part in different fundraising events. The last 18 months have been extremely challenging in terms of our fundraising and we are truly grateful to Thatcher + Hallam for wanting to collaborate with us at this particular time. We're looking forward to working together and being back out engaging in the local communities."

The fundraising for We Hear You starts immediately, with a number of the team taking part in the Skittles World Record Attempt on 5th September in Frome. Some of the team are also hoping to take part in WHYwalk, which takes place throughout the month of September and encourages people to set themselves a walking challenge for the month.

Thatcher + Hallam will also be donating money raised through Will Month in October to We Hear You and is encouraging clients to book their appointments to make a Will as part of this scheme as soon as possible.

Laura explains, "Will Month is one of our key opportunities to support our Charity of the Year. During Will Month we offer clients a discounted rate on Wills – just £125 (plus VAT) for a single Will and £175 (plus VAT) for a joint Will. For each Will made as part of this offer, we will then donate 50% of the fee (excluding VAT) to We Hear You. The number of appointments we have available is limited so we encourage anyone wanting to take advantage of this to book an appointment with us soon by calling 01761 414646."
