On Monday across much of the local area it was an official Ice Day - when temperatures never rose above zero.

The last time that happened, according to one local weather forecaster, was in February 28 2018, so if you were shocked at just how cold it was, you were right.

You would not have been used to those kind of temperatures, across all of the day, for some years.

But that same forecaster is predicting a big thaw, and more on the way.

Kilmersdon weather HERE is reporting that after another cold night and possibly some snow further South in Somerset, the week will warm up.

Adding : " Fast forwards 5-6 days from now and temperatures could be as much as 10C above where they are now.....until then it remains very cold, but largely dry with some very sharp overnight frosts returning once we lose the current persistent cloudiness. "
