How have local professional practices been faring during the coronavirus lockdown? At local solicitors Thatcher + Hallam LLP they took the immediate view that this was a time when their clients needed reassurance, help and support more than ever. Whilst working remotely, they remained open and accessible every working day. They were innovative and responsive, assisting local business with the introduction of the Commercial Property Helpline as well as launching their own free Virtual Legal Surgery to ensure that even the most isolated have access to legal advice.

Thatcher + Hallam have now confirmed that their doors are now physically open to their clients. Partner at the firm Laura Ablett explains.

'As with every other business, we have had to make some adjustments to our offices to ensure that our clients, our visitors and of course our own staff stay safe,' says Laura. 'The fact is, however, that there are also many people out there who are still concerned about leaving their home at all. People need confidence and reassurance. Once the lockdown restrictions started to ease, the one positive thing we thought that we could do to help put clients and potential clients more at ease when they visit us was to make a short film. So, that is exactly what we did! It is great, as every visitor can now see exactly what to expect, from parking their vehicle in our adjacent private car park, to going through our front door at Island House and beyond. We feel we have a responsibility to try and give as much confidence as possible to clients, customers and visitors that they are entering a safe working environment. We hope this short film will help to allay any concerns. If you have yet to view the film then just click on the film at the top of this page,'

In the meantime, exactly as they have been doing since the start of the coronavirus, the firm continues to help their clients, both existing and new, on matters from Buying & Selling Your Home, Family Law, Wills, Probate and making a Personal Injury claim to advising on Commercial Property and business premises.

'We also appreciate that some of our clients at this stage would still prefer to contact us and give instructions over the telephone or video link,' adds Laura. 'We urge clients to contact us in whichever way they feel the most comfortable.'
