Wild Memories has returned to the outdoors.

The nature group is open to anyone living with dementia or experiencing symptoms of memory loss. Carers or family members are welcome too. It's all about helping people to retain skills, abilities, and confidence, helping our local wildlife, and above all having fun and socialising.

Getting out into green spaces is proven to improve mental and physical wellbeing and can reduce the negative symptoms associated with dementia, helping people to live well.

Here are a few pictures from our first few sessions, which have been a huge success! So far we've planted herbs in a medicinal garden, counted butterflies, harvested potatoes, picked blackberries, made nature inspired art, and we have a packed list of activities for the next weeks and months. We always finish off with well-deserved tea and biscuits. The sessions are flexible and relaxed - sometimes we just sit and enjoy the scenery.

Sessions are running every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 11am – 2pm.

Participant and staff numbers are limited to six to enable lots of space between us.

The group is free to attend, and free transport is also available.

For those not ready to join groups just yet, we are continuing to provide a varied programme of free activities to do at home or in the garden.

If you have any questions, or to join our outdoor group sessions, just get in touch with [email protected] or on mobile: 07949 572849 .

Froglife's Green Pathways for Life delivers practical and educational outdoor activities for people living with dementia, to improve local green spaces for wildlife, whilst at the same time enabling people to gain all the benefits associated with spending time outdoors. The Somerset project is supported through the Somerset County Council, with the help of the Hospital Saturday fund. You can read more about the scheme here and also the one that they already run in Glasgow. the Froglife site
