Scott O'Hara, winner of the "The Climates" Songwriting Competition 2023 won a day's recording at the world class Bert Jansch Studio in Frome along with runners up, Judas Goat and the Bellwether featuring local singer/songwriter, Sara Vian and Pete Vincent, a multi-instrumentalist from Yeovil.

Singer/songwriter, Scott O'Hara, is actually from Sydney Australia but now also lives in Somerset and commented, "Part of the reason I moved to the UK was to reduce my travelling carbon footprint, so it's been great to get the opportunity to write a song which raises awareness of these issues. We had a wonderful day recording at the top-notch Bert Jansch Studio. It's fantastic that local musicians don't have to travel further than Frome to access such a high-quality facility."

The Climates Songwriting Competition is an offshoot of The Frome International Climate Film Festival, set up by James Godman whom Sara Vian met at the Frome Music Network where he shared his vision and encouraged musicians to get involved with doing something for the common good whilst gaining the opportunity to take their music to the next level.

Join Scott O'Hara and Judas Goat and the Bellwether for The Climates Single Launch Party at 23 Bath Street on Saturday 4th May to raise money for The Frome International Climate Film Festival. 50 Ft Queenie, a new PJ Harvey tribute band will also be helping to rock up the revolution!
