Writhlington School is celebrating a phenomenal set of exam results for its Sixth Form this week. Congratulations to all our students who have achieved an extremely impressive set of top grades with the return of exams this summer. The students have achieved 70% A* to B and 90% A* to C grades with an overall pass rate of 100%.
Keith Howard, Headteacher of Writhlington School said, "The results our students have achieved this year are remarkable. Their results are well above national figures and the best A level results the school has ever had! We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially after such a difficult and disrupted period in their education. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further education and study, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future."
We are incredibly proud of all our students who have put in so much hard work with many achieving some truly outstanding results; there are too many to name them all, but we are especially pleased for Bosco Foulsham for achieving 3 A* grades and securing a place at Oxford University to study Economics. Also heading to Oxford University to study Chemistry is Carla Hollier having achieved 2 A* grades and 2 A grades. James Wyatt achieved 2 A* grades and 2 A grades and is going to Warwick University to study Mathematics. Director of Post 16, Karen Ward said: "We are very proud of the achievements of our students, and of the real perseverance and resilience the students have shown over the course of the last 18 months dealing with circumstances which no other year group has had to deal with. We wish them all the best for the bright futures they have ahead of them as they begin the next chapter in their lives. With their strong destinations including exciting apprenticeships and places at leading universities, we are confident that our students' diligence and dedication will ensure their success in whichever path they choose to take."
Headteacher, Keith Howard, went on to say "The results our students have achieved this year truly are exceptional and well-deserved. The return to exams this summer demonstrates they possess the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding for the grades they have achieved. When you consider they have had to complete a significant number of these courses remotely, it is testament to their commitment and dedication to their studies; their engagement over the two years hasn't faltered, even in the most adverse and challenging circumstances. The account given of the students from all the staff has been nothing but positive; they have been an excellent cohort and have done themselves, their parents and Writhlington School proud with their achievements.
On behalf of all the staff at Writhlington, I wish each and every student the greatest success in the next stage of their journey."
