The public will be spoilt for choice this year at the Yeovil Literary Festival with over fifty well-known literary figures, comedians, celebrities, and exciting new writers to choose from.

Yeovil Literary Festival takes place between Thursday 20 October to Monday 24th October, with events at The Octagon Theatre, Westlands Entertainment Venue and Yeovil Library.

The full-up line for the festival has now been revealed, and includes Liz McConaghy, Tom Kerridge, Delia Smith, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Melanie C, Hugh Bonneville, Anton du Beke, Dr Thomas Halliday, Amy Jeffs, Janice Hallett, David Parker, Ben Okri, Simon Mayo, Brendan O'Carroll, Rich Hall, plus many more.

Now in its tenth year the festival has gone from strength to strength and welcomed even more inspirational artists and authors to Somerset, with more than six thousand tickets sold for last year's festival.

Councillor Federica Smith-Roberts, Somerset County Council's cabinet member with responsibilities for libraries said: "We are delighted to be celebrating the tenth year of the Yeovil Literary Festival which has grown in size and popularity.

There is a great line up of authors, explorers, dancers, pop stars, chefs, and celebrities - something for everyone. We look forward to welcoming you at Yeovil Library."

Yeovil Library will be hosting the following brilliant author events during the festival:

Friday 21 October, 10am – Jane Shemilt

Jane is an internationally acclaimed bestselling author of psychological suspense novels. As a medical student studying psychiatry, Jane listened to patients and their stories. Later, as a GP, she was struck by the number of her patients who faced mental illness and felt stigmatised by their experience. Jane will be talking about her latest book The Patient.

Sunday Times bestseller Lucy Clarke writes from a beach hut, using the inspiration from the wild south coast to craft her stories. Her debut novel, The Sea Sisters, was a Richard & July Book Club pick. Lucy will be chatting about her new thriller One of the Girls.

Friday 21 October, 2pm – Chris Ewan

We welcome back friend of the festival Chris Ewan to talk about his heart pounding, gripping new thriller The Interview.

It's 5 p.m. on a Friday. You have been called to an interview for your dream job.

In a stunning office thirteen floors above the city below, you are all alone with the man interviewing you. Everyone else has gone home for the weekend.

The interview gets more and more disturbing. You're feeling scared. Your only way out is to answer a seemingly impossible question. If you can't . . . what happens next?

Friday 21 October, 4pm – Rachel Joyce

Ten years ago, Harold Fry set off on his epic journey on foot to save a friend. Now his wife, Maureen, has her own pilgrimage to make, which Rachel will share with us in Maureen Fry and the Angel of the North.

Saturday 22 October, 10am – Dinah Jefferies

Dinah began her career with The Separation, followed by the number 1 Sunday Times and Richard & Judy bestseller The Tea-Planter's Wife. The Hidden Palace is her second historical novel in her new series The Daughters of War, set at the end of the Second World War.

Saturday 22 October, 12noon – Janice Hallett

Janice's debut novel, The Appeal, took the book world by storm. It was a Sunday Times bestseller and the Sunday Times crime book of the year. Janice will be discussing her new novel The Twyford Code.

Saturday 22 October, 2pm – Why Women Rule the World with Ayisha Malik, Vaseem Khan and Nikki May

As the world sees a recent trend towards "strong men" in power, in fiction there has been a resurgence of smart, dynamic women. In this panel, authors Ayisha, Vaseem and Nikki explain why such protagonists are popular with reads and why women might do a good job running the world!

Saturday 22 October, 4pm – Sophie Irwin and Lianne Dillsworth

What is it like to have publishers fight to publish your debut novel? Sophie and Lianne found themselves in that very situation and will be talking about their historical novels A Lady's Guide to Fortune-Hunting and Theatre of Marvels.
