There's strong momentum in the UK housing market, with the number of homes going under offer (sale agreed) from January to April 2025 rising across most regions compared to the same period last year.
This points to growing buyer confidence and a market that's continuing to move – something that may be of particular interest to anyone in and around Frome considering a move this year.
Here's how each region performed in terms of year-on-year growth in homes sold subject to contract:
- North West: Up 11.3%
- East Midlands: Up 11.2%
- Wales: Up 11.2%
- East Anglia: Up 10.8%
- North East: Up 9.8%
- West Midlands: Up 9.0%
- South East: Up 7.6%
- South West: Up 6.5%
- Yorkshire & Humber: Up 6.5%
- Scotland: Up 5.6%
- London: Up 4.3%
- Northern Ireland: Up 0.9%
With more sales being agreed and activity increasing, many homeowners are feeling more confident about making a move.
But it's worth remembering: only 54% of homes that come to market actually complete. Pricing your property realistically from the outset remains the most powerful tool you have.
If you're based in Frome or the surrounding area and thinking about selling in 2025, now could be a great time to start the conversation.
