Argyll House is a truly stunning, and characterful, Georgian Grade II listed property next door to St John's.
Built in 1768 it was once the home of the Dowager Duchess of Argyle and has over 3000 square feet of living space, parking and an integrated annexe which you could rent out.
For sale for offers over £1,250,000 there is planning permission (in final stages) to add another bedroom in the main Argyll House on the top floor with additional shower and WC on the first floor. Additionally, the planning application includes the opportunity to widen the driveway, offering convenient off-street parking for several cars. It was previously up for sale in 2021 for £925,000 and was featured in The Times newspaper as their property of the week.
It currently has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, for more details and 70 photos of the property click HERE
On the listed buildings registration, more details about what makes it special: "Built by the Thynne family. Later lived in by the Dowager Duchess of Argyll (Mistress of the Robes to the Queen; died 1855). Coursed rubble, freestone features, chamfered plinth, rusticated quoins, cornice and parapet... Original Chinese Chippendale stair-case (an excellent example of local joinery). The same pattern is used for lesser stair to attic (cheaper timber and handrails, straight string, smaller scale), this too appears to be original. "
