The 2024 Frome Triathlon, hosted by Frome Leisure Centre on Saturday, 6th July, saw a record-breaking 160 participants this year. The event was won by local resident Daniel Colman, 28, who has now secured the title for the second consecutive year.

The triathlon kicked off with a 400m swim in the Centre's pool, followed by a challenging 23k bike ride through the scenic local countryside. The final leg, a grueling 5k run, concluded back at the Centre. The finish line was a festive hub of activity, with food stalls and refreshments from the Centre's Chill Cafe, and crowds of supporters cheering on the athletes.

Daniel Colman said: "It was a fantastically run event and greatly enjoyed by everyone from the Frome Triathlon Club who also chipped in to help organise. I live very close to Frome Leisure Centre, so with the intensity and volume that triathlon training brings, it's perfect having such great facilities so close! I'm now focusing on my goal of competing in the Ironman Wales competition in September this year with my fiancé, who is also racing - so watch this space!"

Fusion's Frome Centre manager, Jo Morgan, commented, "Hearty congratulations to Daniel for his win and to everyone who took part. The Frome Triathlon is a key event in the local sporting calendar, and we are thrilled to be a part of this event. It's great fun and the whole team looks forward to it."
