Frome Museum has fresh. new look for 2024 and a new display, 'The Story of the Frome Hoard'.

This important local discovery is the largest coin hoard found in Britain to date, and the second largest treasure hoard.

Unearthed in 2010 by local metal detectorist Dave Crisp, it comprises 52,503 Roman coins contained in a ceramic pot, and has been dated to the period AD 253 to 293.

The display showcases a replica of the urn and some of the coins from the hoard and tells their fascinating story.

Frome Museum is open Tuesdays - Saturdays and on Frome Independent Market Sundays, 10.00am - 2.00pm. Admission is free.
