Radstock Museum's Bygone Days Talk The Rise and Fall of Local Pubs

Culture
Tuesday 1st April

Radstock Museum's Bygone Days Talks spring programme concludes with a talk entitled, "The Rise and Fall of Local Pubs"
Graeme King will give an illustrated presentation charting the success and sad demise of local pubs in Radstock and Midsomer Norton and surrounding villages from over 120 establishments 100 years ago to less than 40 now. He will also head up a light-hearted quiz about pubs and the brewing industry.
Did you have a favourite watering hole that no longer exists? Maybe it has been changed into flats or something else. Was your landlord or landlady welcoming? And did the beer taste good?
Can you guess where the pub on the poster is and what it was called. A clue: the building is still there. Find out the answer at the talk which will take place on Tuesday 1st April at 7:30pm at the Somer Centre in Midsomer Norton. Entry £5 with funds going to Radstock Museum Charity number: 115 1573. There is no need to book, just turn up. The doors open at 7pm from a prompt 7:30pm start. There is parking outside the hall. www.radstockmuseum.co.uk for details.
