As part of the great drama offerings in the 2022 Frome Festival, audiences are to be treated to a feel good play,

Out of Love by Elinor Cook presented by Geoff Hunt Theatre Productions. This well crafted piece tells the story of Grace and Lorna who do everything together. They share crisps, cigarettes, and crushes. That's what happens when you're best friends forever. But when Lorna gets a place at University and Grace gets pregnant, they suddenly find themselves in starkly different worlds. Can anything bridge the gap between them? A feel good tale of friendship, love and rivalry over 30 years.

Elinor said of her play; I wanted to write a love story, but a slightly unusual one. A lifelong friendship between two women is something that is rarely explored on stage (or anywhere really) but it can be the most formative, fiery and rewarding relationship of your life. It's been interesting to observe how many people have qualified the friendship in the play as 'female', and I bristled at that a bit at first – I wondered if it had the same slightly negative connotation as 'women's fiction'. But actually I think there is something about that particular relationship that a lot of women instinctively understand... It feels like this mysterious, powerful force. Perhaps that is 'female'... Perhaps not! I'm still figuring it out.

The cast is made up of local experienced talented actors: Maddy Herbert, Abi Holmes and Ed Henderson. Collectively directed by Geoff Hunt, Claudia White and Dan Gaisford.

Producer, Geoff Hunt said, It is great to be working with the folk at the town hall again. The space is fabulous with great acoustics, is air conditioned and there will be a small bar for refreshments. The show lasts just over an hour.

Performances 7.45pm 7th 8th 9th July- Frome Town Hall- Christchurch street west BA11 1EB. £10 The tickets are on sale through the cheese and grain box office, the festival web site or on the door.
