The Co-op in Badcox in Frome was this morning (November 26) cordoned off after staff arrived for the 6am start to find the shop front had been rammed.

Details are not clear, but none of the staff were in the store when it happened.

They were waiting for officers to arrive to find out what has been lost.

It is the second ram raid on a Frome store this week. The Spar and Post Office in Rodden Road Frome was closed on Wednesday after an early hours raid with a car backing into the doors three times to gain access. The store doors were rammed at around 2.30 am (November 24) with thieves making off in a car with an unspecified amount. They are understood to have made off with several thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes and alcohol, but the safe they also reportedly stole, was apparently empty. The Co-op at 1a Nunney Rd, Frome is a much bigger store. But from the outside looking in, it seems like the alcohol section had not been hit. More details from the police when we have them.
