A tree for every chimney they sweep - that's the pledge from the local sweeping company.

In their New Year's resolution this local company will be making a positive change and making a real commitment with their tree pledge.

In fitting with their work, they have also chosen to support a greening initiative which is you might say at the very heart of their business.

The promise is to pay for a tree to be planted for every domestic chimney they tackle throughout the whole of 2021.

They explain : " At the sweeping company we believe positive change is a good thing no matter how small it might be. So we will be teaming up with Ecologi to plant a tree with every domestic household we sweep a chimney in."

Lee Waldron told Nub News : " There is currently a lot of talk in the media about solid fuel (good and bad). We do believe that if burning the right wood (sustainably sourced, well seasoned) in the right way with regular maintenance, wood burning as a source of heating is a carbon neutral option, as well as giving you that feel good factor a real fire gives you.

" The restoration of trees is one of the most effective strategies for climate change. We have therefore teamed up with Ecologi to become a climate positive workforce. They aim to plant one billion trees to help reduce the harmful effects of CO2. To date they have planted six million trees. "
