After a two year break the annual Clive Lewis Tag Rugby Festival was back in Frome

On Wednesday the 30th March, Frome RFC played host to the Annual Clive Lewis Tag Rugby Festival.

Frome RFC Schools Rugby Officer, Paul Lovatt commented on the event: "It is so good to be back for the festival after a two year absence. I'd just to say thank you so much to all of you for your time and organisation ensuring the pupils of your schools could take part in Wednesday's Festival."

Years 3 & 4 played over seventy games Years 5 & 6 played 20. The skills are there & improved as more games were played the children are fast learners their discipline and behaviour was exemplary a real credit to you all! The emphasis is on fun there was plenty of that in evidence so important to play together as a team and friends.

Many games were hotly contested, as the Final tables shows. (Scores are based on 3 points for a Win; 2 points for a Draw; 1 point for a Loss.

YEARS 3 & 4 Festival

St John's 21points (unbeaten)

Springmead 17 points

Trinity BLUE 14 points

Mells & Beckington RED 14 points

Upton Noble & Bruton 13 points

Mells & Beckington GREEN 13 points

Trinity RED 10 points

Trinity WHITE 10 points

YEARS 5 & 6 Festival Crockerton 10 points (finishing top on try difference - 16 trys) Selwood BLACK 10 points (scoring 15 trys) Upton Noble & Bruton 9 points Selwood ORANGE 6 points Springmead 5 points

Paul Lovatt added: "I would like to express my gratitude to Frome RFC's Trevor and Claire Osborne for giving up their afternoon to record the scores and produce the results.

Also a big thank you to Peter Dickens, of Frome College PE Dept, without whom we could not run the Festival. Peter & Frome College have supported this Festival from the start almost twenty years ago.

The following pupils from Frome College refereed as part of their "Sports Leadership Award", and we'd like to pass on our thanks to them too; Lottie Farndale, Owen Jones, Tom Richards, Zac Stickley, Rowan Walton and Kye White."
