The D2 is a great bus from and to Bath but the timetables are confusing

Complaints and confusion as the D2 bus, which takes people from Frome to Bath and is part of the Discover route, seems to have opposing and unreadable timetables.

The bus was under threat, and campaigners have urged passengers to use it as the easiest quickest simplest way into the city.

However the timetable stuck on the bus shelter in the Market Place is not up to date, and on line there are two versions, or more, one of which left passengers scratching their heads yesterday over which reflected the actual arrival times.

A least seven passengers waited 50 minutes for a mid morning bus.

The service was saved earlier this month by funding from Somerset, and for many it is lifeline into the city.

It is also a very pretty route which now goes via the Mill at Rode and is part of a tourist trail. However that too seems to be out of date; a poster on the D2 yesterday (October 27) boasting that Frome has three weekly markets.

But it is the timetable issue that is causing most frustration. One passenger told Nub News: " We are all being urged to use public transport, and this bus is great to get into the city, but if you have to wait and wait for a bus and you cant rely on when it turns up, people will start driving again."

First Group which runs the service has been approached for comment.
