And remember the lantern parade too

The countdown has begun with less than a month to go until Frome's Christmas Lights Switch On illuminates our streets on Friday 25th November, 5-7pm.

As always, Frome Town Council has some musical merry-making planned for the town. Starting at 5pm Frome Town Band will deliver the well-loved traditional Christmas spirit, followed by Rock Choir with their uplifting festive renditions and then the Mayor of Frome, Cllr Sara Butler's band Back of the Bus will treat the town to a set with a seasonal twist.

Cllr Butler said, "The Lights Switch On and Light the Night lantern parade have become firm favourites in the Frome calendar and always feels like a real community event celebrating Christmas coming to town. I am really looking forward to bringing my own special touch to the night and watching, what I know will be a stunning parade, emerge through the town."

In addition to the performances and lantern parade led by the joyous Samba Band, surprise street entertainment is also planned to keep the crowds captivated. And don't forget that you're invited to get involved – why not pop along to one of Frome Lanterns special 'how to' workshops. These are free to attend you just need to purchase a kit to get started and book a spot. Once you've made your own lantern, on the night you are welcome to join in with the parade or if you'd prefer to watch please feel free to line the route with your creations in hand. In addition, lots of Frome's fabulous cafes and eateries will be extending their opening hours and putting on some special Christmas treats for the event. You can find out more on Discover Frome
