Frome fire service was out early this morning (November 4) for a car which two days previously had been involved in a crash and was now set ablaze on the Clink Road.

Fire control received calls reporting one vehicle on fire at around 1.30 am. One fire engine from Frome was quickly mobilised and soon arrived on scene, confirming the vehicle was well alight.

Fire crews got to work with a compressed air foam system and a single hose reel jet.

While the fire was extinguished, the vehicle was completed destroyed.

Fire crews reported that this vehicle had previously been abandoned following an RTC that occurred two days ago and the cause of the fire was deliberate.

Avon and Somerset police, who were at the scene, have now taken on the investigation.
