Frome's biggest supermarket has today (May 26) returned to near-normal opening hours, with the staff at the store being chosen for national praise during the coronavirus pandemic.

ASDA will be opening Monday to Friday at its pre-coronavirus times - so from 7am - the only difference being that there is no browsing on a pre-opening hours on a Sunday.

The team at the Frome ASDA have been praised for their hard work, everyday acts of kindness at the store and what they have been doing to ensure customers get the supplies they need. The special profile of some of those working there has been put out on the national ASDA media site.

The shop's community champion Jackie Bryant, herself praised by the store deputy manager Brian Brooker, for being "a hero herself" was also mentioned for being someone who " loves her job, the store and the colleagues. I've never heard anyone have a bad word about her. She's very popular here and what she's doing is great for morale."

The company-wide hero-gram included a mention of colleagues who helped out a customer suffering from diabetes, the "unflappable" pharmacist Graham, and a member of staff who now starts her shift at 2am to get the increasing numbers of click and collect orders ready.

All those mentioned on the blog are still working at the store, except one who has transferred - to another ASDA site.
