Historic England has released this year's list of ancient buildings which are at risk of falling down or falling into such bad condition risk being torn down.

They all need some love and care, and, obviously lots of money.

The big church next to Frome Town Hall remains on the list. Christ Church which was build in 1817-1818 is described as having a specific problem that of being susceptible when it rains, as of course it does a lot in Somerset.

The guttering is in poor condition and the external secondary glazing is described as 'detrimental' while there are also concerns about the large number of tingles (temporary repairs) on the chancel roof.

Another place on the list the chapel over in Beckington, which dates back to 1786 and has now been converted to community use as a pre-school as well as a place of worship.

The heritage description of this at risk building is worrying : " Random rubble, with plain corner pilasters, pilasters between each bay and a central pediment with balustraded parapet to each side. Roof aging and some slate slippage. Stone balustraded parapet needs repair work. Some broken panes of glass. "

The annual list has grown again this year with Historic England adding a number of notable buildings and sites to the 2023 register, including the house where the Gunpowder Plot unravelled.

However 203 sites across the UK have been taken off the at risk register, following what they called the determination, perseverance and the imagination of so many people from volunteers and community groups, local authorities or developers.

Rebecca Barrett, Historic England's national lead on heritage at risk told The Guardian newspaper, that the register, now 25 years old, was an important snapshot of the health of the country's historic environment. "We are delighted that 203 sites have been rescued and removed from the register,"
