A former volunteer police officer has been accused of slashing her partner's tyre to stop him leaving home.

The special constable with Avon and Somerset Police, whose name has been withheld, allegedly admitted the criminal damage to a colleague after checking his body worn camera was turned off.

A notice for her misconduct hearing says she was angry when she deliberately used a knife to puncture the tyre last June.

When interviewed, the Somerset officer, identified only as SPC X, said she could not remember if she had punctured the tyre.

The officer is accused of breaching the police standards of discreditable conduct and honesty and integrity.

If proved her actions could amount to gross misconduct. The hearing will be held virtually on March 8.

The decision to withhold SPC X's identity was made by the chair of the misconduct panel but a reason was not given.
