Thieves in Frome have stolen a collection tin from the waiting area for those about to have counselling sessions because someone they loved died of cancer.

The We Hear You collection was kept outside the charity's waiting area in Frome Town Hall.

The tin was used by clients to make donations towards their counselling as well as visitors.

On social media the group say they have no idea how much money was in the tin, but whatever was in there would have been directly put back into the service to provide the specialist counselling.

The incident has been reported to the police and CCTV footage is being checked by Frome Town Council.

If you have any information regarding this theft please report it to Avon and Somerset Police under the following Crime number - 5220046889.

The charity adds: " If anyone has taken the tin, has had a change of heart and wishes to return it and it's contents anonymously then please feel free to get someone drop it to reception at Frome Town Hall."
