The fire reported earlier on Frome Nub News was at the local

award-winning company Marston Foods, who are happy to report it is now business as normal.

The company, which recently won Large Business of the Year and Manufacturer & Producer of the Year in the Somerset Chamber of Commerce Business Awards, got in touch to thank the fire service and explain what happened.

"Unfortunately last night some of our delicious cookie dough pies were left in the oven too long. The alarms sounded and everyone was evacuated immediately and safely.

"The amazing fire service arrived and helped us establish that the smoke was caused by burnt products within a self-contained oven. After a full risk assessment and deep clean, we are happy to say that we, and the oven, are fully operational again with no damage to the oven, the surroundings or any other equipment, we are fully operational and back making desserts.

" Thank you so much for to the fire service for dealing with everything so quickly and efficiently."

A total of eight crews were sent to the site, including engines from Yeovil and two from Frome.

Marston Foods has been making hand-made, hand-finished and hand-packed award winning desserts for the past decade.

Most recently the company won two of the top business awards in the Somerset Business Awards.
