3rd Feb 2020 | Local News

A Dementia Friend is somebody that learns about dementia so they can help their community. Many people are affected by dementia within Frome and Dementia Friends help by raising awareness and understanding, so that people can live well with dementia and can continue to live in the way they want.

Organised by Frome Town Council, and being held on 13th February at 7pm, this hour-long information session will help you to understand the small actions you can take to raise awareness and help those with dementia feel supported in the community.

Cllr Anne Hills said, "There are lots of small actions that we can take, whether it's being more patient while queuing in a shop or taking time to visit someone you know who has dementia – each little action counts! This information session helps to raise awareness and offers people the chance to learn more about and make them aware of dementia, the different types and how it can effect a loved one, friend or neighbour."

No experience is needed to attend this free information session, but please do book ahead to ensure your place: https://www.tickettailor.com/event/336342/
