Frome Nub News has heard of two key pubs which have called time on the business.

On February 11 The Bell in Buckland Dinham hosted a farewell party as the brewery announced it was selling up. The staff did post that they hoped it would be bought by a publican willing to keep it operating as a business since there has been an inn in the village for over 400 years.

The landlords posted : " As some of you may already have heard it is with a heavy heart we are writing this post to let everyone know that the brewery are selling the pub. We are very sad we have to leave and will miss everyone dearly and we have genuinely made some friends for life here. We hope someone will buy the pub and love it as much as we have and show it the love it deserves.

"Again thank you to all of you who have supported us this last year, we will miss you very much, all our love, Harry, Michelle, Laura and James."

Meantime The Cross Keys in Blatchbridge shut up on February 19 with the staff saying that after nine years it was time to move on to my next adventure.

We did a review of The Bell back in June 2020 HERE: The Bell has been there since the 1700s.
