People living around the site of the old Broadway Allotments in Frome used their windows to illuminate the campaign to have Mendip District Council donate that land to Frome Town Council for use as a Community Allotment and Wildlife resource.

They took part in the Window Wanderland over the weekend to publicise their campaign which has now been active for twelve months.

Andy Jones, Acting Secretary for Broadway Community Gardens, said: " It's a year since the initial business case was submitted to MDC and they are so slow to recognise the huge value this will bring to the community that we're now at risk of losing a second spring to their procrastination.

"Frome Town Council has given us their backing, and working with the Frome Rangers we've developed plans that would protect the badgers and other wildlife that call that site home, while providing a communal green space for growing, sharing and learning."
