A FROME opticians is raising its glasses to two members of the team who've celebrated career achievements.

Lucy Telford-Wilson joined Specsavers in the Westway Centre when she was 17-years-old, working on Saturdays. The experience was such a positive one, with Lucy's natural aptitude for optics, that she decided to go on and study to become an optometrist at Plymouth University. Three years on and she's now graduated and is back working with the store full-time as an optometrist having completed her pre-registration training year.

Meanwhile Alfie Tucker, 20, has successfully completed his apprenticeship with the store. Again, he demonstrated a flair for the role and has been of offered a full-time position with the team as an optical dispenser. He's also taken on the store merchandising, with responsibility for managing stock and is looking at starting the next optical qualification.

'We feel pretty lucky to have such a great team here and to be able to nurture talent like Lucy and Alfie,' comments Richard Goring, Specsavers Frome store director.

'Their stories also help to demonstrate the range of opportunities available with Specsavers – whether that's on the clinical optical side, customer service, business management or in the lab.

'Given Alfie's and Lucy's success we're now looking for our next team member and are recruiting for an apprentice to join us. If you're energetic and keen to learn in a rewarding and fun environment please do get in touch.'
