Local charitable organisation, Purple Elephant welcomes everyone to join its annual FREE day of fun taking place on Sunday, 21st August, from 10am to 4pm, starting from the Market car park, along the river and woods into Welshmill Park and over the river to the Roundhouse.

From chilled and relaxed toddler spaces to the wild and wonderful, with live music, theatre, craft, sports, BMX and science along the way, here is just some of what is in store.  Are you ready for...Wildlife fun and activities in the woods, a Toy Library play area, crafting, glitter body painting, vinegar volcano and slime-making, jewellery-making, dressing up, green-screen filming, a sensory room, yoga sessions, boccia, seated volleyball, soft archery, magic and theatre shows from Open Storytellers and Jellyfish Theatre...

Hang on! There is more! BMX workshops and MTB trails, live bands in the Cheese and Grain, the chance to make music in a professional music studio, bug hunts, over-sized games and puzzles, frame football, seated curling, forest school activities, a dragon (yes, a dragon) in the glade, storytelling, TWO zip-wires over the river (accessible also for those who use a wheelchair) and, for the first time in Frome, supported by Netflix, the festival will offer clay Model Making workshops from Aardman!

There is no merchandise for sale onsite so no parent-pester-power! Just turn up; participants can buy food but families are welcome to bring picnics or visit Fair Frome's Wrap-and-Roll stall, make a donation and create your own wraps.

Purple Elephant provides vital services all year including support for families of pre-school children, a trained and adult-run befriending scheme for 5-12 year olds and holiday time family events and activities - not just the big Festival day. The Festival day brings together a love of fun and childhood into one inclusive event but Purple Elephant need your support all year round and as the organisation's Director explains,  "We only exist thanks to funding and grants so as the country tightens its belt, keeping our services going is a challenge now: for the first time ever we have a Text-to-Donate campaign. Please, if you can, donate towards ALL our services and keep the good work going all year round"

IF YOU ARE ABLE TO OFFER A DONATION - PLEASE NOTE: This year's Children's Festival has been made possible by the National Lottery Community Fund and Frome Town Council. However, as the country faces some challenging times ahead the organisers are asking those who can to please take advantage of their new Text-to-Donate scheme, open for the first time this year.

Text to donate detail are on their social media and on www.PurpleElephant.org.uk website homepage
