The Frome Post Office in the centre of Frome which closed in June has re-opened.

The Post Office shared the premises of the Co-op at 7 – 9 the West Way, in Frome, but shuttered too following the resignation of the office partners, Radstock Co-op.

Sarah Wilkins, Postmaster for nearby Portway Post Office has now also become the temporary operator for Frome Post Office.

The opening hours are Monday to Friday: 10am – 3.30pm; Saturday: 9am – 12.30pm.

As Frome Nub News visited today September 15, we heard a lot of customers expressin surprise on how the interior of the premises looked - but one added : " But at least it is back, that is the main thing."

Post Office Network Provision Lead, Antoinette Chitty, said: "We know how important a Post Office is to a community and we are delighted to have restored a temporary service in Frome whilst we continue to seek a permanent solution."

The post office also has a notice in the window looking for a counter assistant to work in the branch.
