The Governors and staff of Critchill School have recently committed to gaining The Quality in Careers Standard.

This is formal recognition that the school provides an outstanding programme of careers education, information, advice and guidance that satisfies national requirements and enables them to address the career development needs of all the students in a deeply personalised way.

At Critchill School they have a diverse, engaging and aspirational curriculum, designed to ensure that pupils can make informed choices about their future whilst also developing the skills and capabilities that they will need for employment and to thrive in all areas of their lives.

Their stated aim is to support pupils to achieve their full potential and be the best that they can be. Adding : " We measure success holistically, we recognise that it will be different for each pupil and that it can be measured in a number of ways including personal wellbeing, community engagement and sustainable employment."

Andy Jones, Careers Link Governor at the School said: "To achieve this award would be a huge recognition of the work the school does to prepare all our pupils for a fulfilling adulthood, but we will need support from local employers and the wider community to get to the required standard, especially after the limitations that Covid has imposed on us over the last year."
