While still pushing Mendip for a sensible decision on the future of the Broadway Community Gardens site, local people have been tidying up the space behind Oakfield Road and taking the opportunity to show how it should be used, as a shared wildlife and educational resource with communal growing areas.

Chairman of the group John Clarke said: ""It's time for Mendip District Council to make the right decision, listen to the community and create a unique space.

"No more meaningless words about 'not in current social housing programme'. Halt consideration of the site which we know and have been told is continuing. Resume negotiations now with the association and Frome Town Council for transfer of the land to the council. Make the decision now."

It's now been over a year since they started the Frome campaign to save the site from development.

You may have seen their successful "Spot the Badger" event, across the town, and they now have several hundred members and social media followers. More than1500 have signed a petition to protect the site, but they still need more.

And a date for your diary. On Tuesday 14th June they will be holding an AGM 7:30-8 followed by a general meeting 8-9.
