Frome College has today (February 1) announced that it has been informed of a single confirmed case of coronavirus amongst teaching staff.
But the College, which has been very open with all its coronavirus updates, has said that the individual has not been in contact with any staff or students, therefore there is no need for staff or students to self-isolate.
They have been closed to all but children of essential workers and those who are vulnerable, since January 5 under the latest lockdown restrictions.
Last week the Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that the government hopes to start reopening English schools on 8 March, but in the same address to the House of Commons warned that he would not guarantee that this would be before the Easter holidays, due to begin on April 2.
Meantime in case you missed it, Frome Medical Practice has given up an update on the vaccine roll out for Frome patients.
It confirmed last week that all care home residents in Frome have now been vaccinated.
The Practice added : " We are now in the process of contacting our patients in the 70-75 age group as well as those who are clinically extremely vulnerable (as defined by the government) and we have started visiting our housebound patients to give them the vaccine too. We hope to complete contacting these two groups within the next two weeks."
