An early morning crash near to Frome left one of the drivers trapped with fire crews battling to release his arm.

At 7.30 this morning on the A362 near to Buckland Dinham, the fire and rescue service were called by the police following a road traffic collision.

According to the fire service reports, two fire appliances from Frome were immediately mobilised by Fire Control.

The fire officers found one male still trapped by his arm and another car had rolled off the road and into a field. Crews got to work to release the male trapped with hydraulic rescue equipment, who was then handed over to ambulance crews.

Meantime another road accident happened nearby on the only road into Faulkland.

The road from the crossroads on the A362 was closed while a van was lifted from the road and taken away, following an early morning collision.

Police later said that the vehicle skidded on ice and collided with a street lamp. There were no injuries.
