On Saturday 6th June we will see an exciting specialist jewellery and silver sale.

This sale will be the first of it's kind that Cooper and Tanner have held and there will be over 500 lots including not only jewellery and silver but also watches, coins and clocks.

It will be catalogued by a host of specialists used by Cooper and Tanner; and available online through the-saleroom.com, this is the largest online platform for auctions in the UK and attracts bidders from all over the country and the world.

Cooper and Tanner have had a series of successful sales of jewellery in recent years, including two rings which were destined for the charity shop in a box of costume jewellery. One was a single stone diamond and platinum Cartier ring which sold for £42,000 and the other was a sapphire and diamond ring selling for £28,000. The vendor was never aware of their value and if it weren't for the eagle eyed valuer the rings would have languished in a jewellery box with the other items.

Jewellery and silver have always been a part of Cooper and Tanner's successful online Antique and Collectables Sales. Last summer an excellent single owner collection of jewellery was consigned at a valuation morning in Bridgwater. Highlights of this collection included a beautiful Edwardian sapphire and diamond hinged bangle that sold for £1,300 and an unusual chrysoberyl cat's eye ring that sold for £700.

The market for precious metals and stones is particularly buoyant at the moment; confidence in these remain strong throughout world issues. Gold, platinum and diamonds are all excellent investments and this is reflected in the current prices achieved for these items.
