The Environment Agency has today (January 10) put out flood alerts for much of Wales due to the persistent heavy rain, with flood alerts also in force now for North West England and South West Scotland.

Although Frome too is once again wet, and the forecast is for three days of rain, the river levels are not high enough to register as anything but within a normal range.

However the water levels over in Witham Friary are now showing on the EA map as "high" and significantly over what the agency has posted as normal range.

Levels are now at 1.39 metres, compared to 0.69 metres which is normal. The highest water levels recorded in Witham Friary were 2.78m back on 13 December 2008.
