Frome Medical Practice is taking its Diabetes Education Sessions online, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The first online session took place in August and was attended by over 60 people and so another session has been arranged.

The next session will take place online on Monday 5th October at 7pm. It's aimed at Frome Medical Practice patients who have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes. Family and carers who might also find it helpful to learn about this condition are also welcome to join.

The session will be led by Dr Rob Taylor, who will be joined by Senior Health Connector Jo Fordham. The aim of the session is for patients to gain a greater understanding of Type 2 Diabetes.

The session will cover the following:

  • How diabetes affects your body.
  • How lifestyle changes, for example what you eat and being more active, can help you manage your condition.
  • How we manage our sleep, stress and general health and wellbeing.

There will be a chance for questions and answers at the end of the session.

The feedback from patients who attended the last session was overwhelmingly positive and included one couple who commented, "The diabetes evening was very useful and reassuring. We have changed our diet as a result of what we heard and both of us have started to lose weight."

To join this online session please visit the practice website by clicking HERE: the FMP site

The closing date for registration is Thursday 1st October 2020. Once you have registered the practice will be sending out information on how to join the online session.
