Gritters were out in force over the weekend as temperature around Frome fell to minus 4.

So no surprise that the town centre went all white for Sunday. Or to be more precise the snow started falling around 9am.

If you were waiting on the weekend Frome rugby news, no news. The Club advised everyone that following a pitch inspection in preparations for this weekend's rugby, ALL games and all training was postponed or cancelled. They posted on social media: " The pitches are frozen and given the forecast for freezing temp to continue through the night & tomorrow they are not safe to use. "

The weather outlook is for tonight, very cold overnight with temperatures quickly dropping below freezing, leading to a widespread and sharp frost. Variable amounts of cloud with clear spells. Minimum temperature again -4 °C.

Monday:

A cold and frosty start on Monday with largely cloudy skies across the east of the region perhaps with an isolated snow flurry. A few sunny spells in the west. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Staying very cold with severe overnight frosts. Freezing fog patches on Tuesday, but a cloudier day for most. Dry on Wednesday and Thursday with sunny periods becoming windy.
