Frome Cats Protection is once again working with the RSPCA to offer free neutering for cats and kittens for households who may be struggling to afford the cost of the operation and aftercare.

The scheme was very successful when it was run previously and is open across all the local towns and villages.

The charity is working with RSPCA Wiltshire-Mid Branch helping those who cannot afford to pay for the operations and aftercare themselves by paying a high proportion of the vet costs for them. You do not have to be receiving benefits to apply for help.

Cats and kittens will be accepted for treatment from the towns of Devizes, Bradford on Avon, Frome, Melksham, Trowbridge, Warminster and Westbury.

You can apply until 31st March 2022. If your kittens are not old enough at the time to be neutered, or vets are unable to undertake the operations immediately because of Covid-19 restrictions, the vouchers will remain valid for operations carried out at any time until the end of December 2022.

They add : " Please be aware that, depending on which vet practice you choose, we may not be able to cover the full cost of neutering by that practice. We will advise when we acknowledge your application what payment, if any, will have to be made by you to the vet at the time of the operation(s)."
