Frome school term dates as the local College students get back in the classroom

As schools settle back into a more regular pattern, Frome Nub News is publishing the local term dates.

Currently Frome College, the only secondary education site in the town, restarted the winter term this week. The College will be open until February 18.

It has the same opening pattern as Selwood Academy and at Oakfield Academy which also ends this term on Friday 18 February

They share the same Somerset calendar:

Term 4:

Monday 28 February to Friday 8 April

Term 5:

Monday 25 April to Friday 27 May

Term 6:

Monday 6 June to Friday 22 July

The Avanti Park School (the former Steiner School ) on Park Road in Frome, will also be shutting for the end of this term on February 18.

They will be closed for half term - Monday 21st February – Friday 25th February. Spring Term is – Monday 28th February - Friday 8th April

Summer Term is Monday 25th April - Friday 27th May

Final Term - Monday 6th June - Friday 22nd July

(with Inset days: Thursday June 9th and Friday June 10th).

Academies, free schools, foundation schools and voluntary-aided schools are free to set their own term dates.

But looking further ahead, those schools and nurseries which stick to the Somerset County education calendar are planning around the following dates:

Re-opening 1 September.

First term ends 21 October 2022

Holiday 1 22 October to 30 October 2022

Term 2 31 October to 16 December 2022

Holiday 2 17 December 2022 to 2 January 2023

Term 3 3 January to 10 February 2023

Holiday 3 11 February to 19 February 2023

Term 4 20 February to 31 March 2023

Holiday 4 1 April to 16 April 2023

Term 5 17 April to 26 May 2023

Holiday 5 27 May to 4 June 2023

Term 6 5 June to 21 July 2023

Holiday 6 22 July to 3 September 2023
