Frome's new electric charging points at the Cheese & Grain car park have moved on to their next stage.

The space for the EV Points at Cattle Market Car Park is now cleared off under the initial work phase.

The next step will be the with the arrival of the DNO, (the electric supplier), who will be undertaking some works to install extra power lines to boost the power requirements in the area. The points themselves are due to become active in the autumn.

They will be providing a total of eight new EV bays : Part of an installation of 43 new charge points announced by Mendip District Council, who are working alongside partners EB Charging.

The 22kW Alfen Twin chargers will be installed in 13 council-owned car parks in Frome, Glastonbury, Street, Wells and Shepton Mallet.

Mendip secured 75% of the funding for the project from the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV), while the remaining investment is being funded and delivered by EV infrastructure specialists, EB Charging.
