Frome favourite, the Codswallop chip shop, is now not expected to re-open until early December.

The shop which is in the shopping precinct close to Frome College, was closed after an unfortunate accident on May 1.

A driver reversed his car into the plate glass windows at the front of the chop shop, and while the glass could have been replaced, it also damaged the rear of the shop and the counter and cooking area.

Those fryers need to be made professionally and the owners had already warned customers that they could not be re-produced at speed.

Frome Nub News was outside the shop today (October 14) and we could hear work going on inside, a hopeful sign, but fish and chip fans may need to be a little more patient. Social media has been full of " We miss you" messages.

But the owners have warned that they are still waiting for those custom made fat fryers to be built and installed, and after hoping they would re-open in November, are now warning it may be early December.
