If you are a lover of classic cars then there was quite a parking area in Frome today (October 1).

Some truly remarkable and rare classics are up for auction - including a 1936 Alvis Silver Crest, believed to be one of just 20 left in existence.

The marquee was busy with enthusiast and seemingly some serious potential buyers, with over 20 rare and in most cases immaculately preserved engines. There was however one do-er upper, but even that may be beyond most bank accounts. The 1973 Jensen Interceptor Mark III is expected to sell for £12,000.

The Nub News favourite : A 1991 Ferrari Testarossa, which has a guide price of £80000 - £90000 but we were also quite taken with the 1960 Alfa Romeo Touring Spider which is slightly more pricey and is expected to go for £90,000-110,000.

The auction itself is on at 2pm on October 2 with currently 27 vehicles including three two wheelers.
