Frome College has revealed details of how it will re-open in September and asks parents to send their children back with hand sanitiser.

The College recently put out an appeal for local builders and plumbers who may be able to install additional hand washing facilities at the school.

But while it is hoped those will be in place in time for the first week back from September 7 - the Principal has written to parents saying they recommend sending their child back with hand sanitiser.

The school will re-open for only certain year groups from day one.

Only Year 9 (current Year 8) and Year 12 (current year 11) will be expected to attend on Monday 7th September.

Year 9 (current Year 8) and Year 12 (current year 11) attend on Tuesday 8th September.

From Wednesday 9th September all year groups attend.

The principal Emma Reynolds writes: " To ensure we all stay as safe and healthy as possible:

The start and end timings of the college are staggered to minimise the numbers of students leaving at any one time.

Handwashing facilities have been significantly enhanced we also recommend you provide your child with personal hand sanitiser

Our cleaning routines and procedures have been enhanced and our revised risk assessment can be found on the school's website from Friday 17th July."

Also new - all the children at the school will have to wear lanyards so that year bubbles and groups can be separated.

As Nub News reported previously - for the first few weeks of term at least - there will be no uniform.
