The Principal of Frome College has announced that they are cancelling the traditional end of school year Sports Day, due to the scorching temperatures and staffing shortages.

She has just sent out a letter to parents explaining that : "

A combination of staffing shortages and high temperatures mean that, in the interests of health and safety, we have had to cancel tomorrow's Sports Day. We hope to either try again in the Autumn or look forward to 2022. "

Today July 19 would have been the date of the Frome College end of Year 11 Prom. That was cancelled previously but in her letter Emma Reynolds insisted " We are absolutely determined to hold a prom for current year 11 and so have rebooked for Friday 1st October. This is an INSET day meaning the venue can be set up during the day ready for students to arrive from 6.30pm onwards. Keep your ticket in a safe place until then."

Frome College finishes on Wednesday July 21 with all students leaving site at 12.30
