Highways England is advising drivers that the M32 junction 2 northbound exit slip road will be closed next week for essential repair work.

During the closure, from 06:00 on Monday 14th June to 22:00 on Friday 18th June, traffic will be diverted via junction 1 and back onto the M32 southbound to exit via the junction 2 southbound slip road.

While the majority of the work so far has taken place during the daytime, with mostly no change to the current exit slip road restrictions, the full closure is needed to allow for concrete work and curing to take place underneath the structure with minimum vibration.

Following a major fire last year and to prevent further damage, a weight and width restriction was put in place along its entire length, meaning larger, heavier vehicles are unable to use it.

Since the 10th May, a 13-week programme of work is strengthening the slip road to enable all restrictions to be removed.

A second week of full closures will be in place on Monday 28 June and a fully signed diversion route will be in place.
