It was a huge challenge, but the walkers raising money for the late President of Frome Rotary, not only completed the huge scale walk, they smashed their fundraising target - by miles.
The walkers completed their walk on June 7 and were handed prayer shawls to mark the occasion, which saw them complete the Mendip Ring in honour of Karl Waldeck.
They had set out to raise £1,000 and have already more than doubled that walking sections, or the whole 120 miles of the hills.
The team that completed the full ten days were Peter Bennett, Claire Hewish, Tony Dyson, Tim Digger and Betsy Digger. Many others joined them for days or sections of the walk, including Karl's sons Alex and Jonathan, Maisy Humphries, Jane Dyson and Mary Canale.
They were joined on the last three days by Mike and Sarah Hagen from the Charity Classrooms in the Clouds; the charity, a favourite of Karl's, which they were raising funds for.
Frome Town Rotary had seven other members who completed the section from Castle Cary to Batcombe.
The walk was organised by Peter Bennett , Dot Cretney and Alex and Jonathan Waldeck.
They would like to thank Tony Dyson from Mendip Ramblers who they say, stopped them from getting lost with his local knowledge and amazing navigation skills.
You can still give to the fundraising - now at a total of £2973, or around £3500 including gift aid – by clicking HERE : the Just Giving page
