Frome fire crews were out on Saturday (October 23) with two engines in Castle Street in the town.

The cause was a small toaster fire which was out on arrival. However the road which is very narrow and follows on from Badcox had to be closed to allow access for the fire service.

Meantime on Friday (October 22), at around 8 am , two fire engines from Frome were sent to reports of a fire in the Friggle Street area of Frome. On arrival, crews confirmed that a recovery truck was well alight.

The fire was extinguished using one breathing apparatus wearer, one hose reel jet and hydraulic cutting equipment was used to gain access.

The vehicle was completely destroyed by fire and the cause was accidental.
