Frome Town football club will pay for fans to watch their next match to say sorry for their last game - described as a nightmare.

The Robins team say that want to apologise for their five nil defeat against Exmouth, by buying tickets for the fans who watched it to their next game.

They say it was not a result they were proud of, and they wish to thank fans who supported them at the weekend's game.

The players have issued the following statement :

"As a group, we value the amazing support that we get both at Badgers Hill and on our travels. This weekend, the coach travel organised by our Supporters Club and those that went directly meant we had a great level of support for our match. The reception and support was outstanding and something we would like to recognise publicly. The result and our performance was not one that we are proud of or anywhere near the standards we set out to deliver each week. So to show our appreciation and as way of an apology we would like to offer to purchase any fans ticket for our match at Bishops Sutton, for anyone that travelled to Exmouth. We hope to see as many of you there as possible as we go again and build from this moment."

The Robins are playing Bishop Sutton in the Somerset Premier Cup on Tuesday (January 31) evening.
