Frome - for once - not top of best places to live list
Frome householders and visitors may be relieved to learn that, for once, the town has not been ranked as one of the best places to live in the UK!
According to the national group Garrington Property Finders the town only comes out at place 975 out of a list of 1429 places.
The rankings were compiled using an algorithm which included well being, and culture along with employability.
They reported that the average family house price in Frome is now £552,085, which is up 5.7 per cent over a year.
The five locations that ranked highest and Best Places to Live 2024 across the UK were :
- Twyford, Berkshire
- St Albans, Hertfordshire
- Epsom, Surrey
- New Mills, Derbyshire
- Bowdon, Greater Manchester

The highly respected and market moving list in the Sunday Times last year also did not put Frome first,
But back in 2021 it was considered more desirable than Wells.
